Delhi Capitals led by Rishabh Pant wins over Chennai Super Kings by 7 wickets in Mumbai. Mahendra Singh Dhoni was fined Rupees 12 lakhs because he maintained a slow over-rate at the time of CSK’s IPL opener against the Delhi Capitals. This was a poor IPL start for CSK, who has been the IPL champion three times and now lost its first match by 7 wickets against DC on April 10, Saturday at the Wankhede Stadium.
The later statement mentioned that this was the first offense by MSD’s team CSK of the IPL 2021 season and so, under the IPL’s Code of Conduct about the minimum over-rate offenses, MS Dhoni was fined Rupees 12 Lakhs. The target given to Delhi Capitals was not too much and proved easier to achieve when Shikhar Dhawan contributed 85 and Prithvi Shaw 72, making a brilliant opening.
