England all out for 178 in second inning

India has a target of 420 in front of him after all the England players fell for 178 and India was left facing a behemoth of target at Chennai. England’s first inning went well with 578 runs and managed to curtain India to 337. England later refused to follow on and went ahead with setting up an impossible target for India. Though they were less dominating, India now needs to power through on the final day after losing Rohit Sharma on Day 4. Captain Joe Root smashed 40 more runs after a 218 knock in the first inning but Ravichandran Ashwin claimed 6 wickets with Shahbaz Nadeem claiming 2 more.

The hosts ended the day on 39-1, and have 381 run target in front of them, with Shubhman Gill on 15 and Cheteshwar Pujara on 12.
