Gujarat Titans star Rashid Khan took the first hat-trick of the IPL 2023

Rashid Khan, the interim captain of the Gujarat Titans, dismissed three batsmen for Kolkata Knight Riders in his last over on Friday, becoming the first bowler in IPL 2023 history to record a hat-trick. Rashid famously ended the KKR chase in the 17th over by getting rid of Andre Russell (1), Sunil Narine (0), and Shardul Thakur (0).

When Rashid came on to deliver his final over, Kolkata Knight Riders were coasting at 155 for four in 16 overs after giving away 35 runs in three overs without picking up a wicket. Rashid, on the other hand, helped his side get back into the game by striking three times in the first three balls of the 17th over and finishing with numbers of 4-0-37-3. As this was Rashid's fourth hat-trick, he also surpassed all other bowlers in T20 cricket in terms of hat-tricks.
