Hardik Pandya snubbed from Leadership Group

Significant changes have already begun to occur as the India team for Gautam Gambhir's debut series as head coach has been revealed. It's clear that Gambhir had a say and influence during the selecting process. The T20I team's captain is Suryakumar Yadav, who was formerly Gambhir's vice captain at Kolkata Knight Riders. Hardik Pandya, the vice captain of the 2024 T20 World Cup, has not been selected. Jasprit Bumrah will have a longer break, and Shreyas Iyer, who does not have a BCCI central contract, is back in the ODI lineup. 

Gambhir's confidence in Suryakumar Yadav is not surprising, but Hardik Pandya's total exclusion from any captaincy position is concerning. Shubman Gill, the captain of India during the Zimbabwe trip, has been selected vice-captain for both the ODIs and T20Is.
