Sustaining their chances of reaching the BBL finals, the Hobart Hurricanes defeated the Brisbane Heat by a miraculous two runs.
Heat underwent a see-saw chase of 121 on a two-paced pitch that made it difficult for batting, and they seemed on track at 103 for 4 in the 17th over. But they faltered, forcing Heat to score 10 runs in the decisive last over. The Heat was at 8-118 when James Bazley, who needed a four off the deciding ball to secure the win, could only manage a single.
As a result, the Hurricanes move up to fifth place on the table, a spot they can keep if the sixth-place Sydney Thunder drop their game against the Melbourne Stars on Wednesday.
