India takes a 1-0 lead in the opening match of the Twenty20 international series as Australia failed to chase the target of 161 ended up at 150 to lose the match with just 11 runs. Yuzvendra Chahal earned the title of man-of-the-match with a record that proudly displays 3-25 at Manuka Oval, dismissing crucial players like Aaron Finch and Steve Smith.
Australian captain Finch in the process suffered a leg injury but posted a 56-run opening partnership with D’Arcy Short until Chahal dismissed him. The dramatic match also saw Ravindra Jadeja fight through his hamstring injury to post an undefeated 44 from 23 late in the match for India. And later drove Mitchell Starc bouncer in his helmet hence Chahal took his place as concussion replacement.
