The West Indies tour to India did not go as planned for the visitors who slumped to a 3-0 loss to India in the ODI series. After the clean sweep, India faced West Indies for the first of three T20I matches in Kolkata and claimed a 1-0 lead with a six-wicket win. Hosts will now hope to extend the lead when they meet again, as for Kieron Pollard and Co it would be a do-or-die match in the series or else they would go back home empty-handed.
Ravi Bishnoi’s maiden international appearance went well with his googlies and the wickets of Roston Chase and Rovman Powell in the same over. Bishnoi in his first international outing even bagged the ‘Player of the Match’ award with a 2/17 record in four overs. From the batting front, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav were exceptional as the team successfully chased 158 runs.
