When the Indian community has an eye set on the Indian premier league 2021 with the tournament already in the semi-final stage, the Indian team has undergone some changes in the T20 World Cup squad. Shardul Thakur has replaced Axar Patel in the Indian T20 World Cup squad as the latter would now be part of the standby players list for the UAE and Oman tournament.
Patel would be one among the stand-by players which includes Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Chahar. Meanwhile Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Shardul Thakur has made it to the 15-man squad that would compete in the T20 World Cup. BCCI also named 8 assisting players who would join the squad Avesh Khan, Umran Malik, Harshal Patel, Lukman Meriwala, Venkatesh Iyer, Karn Sharma, Shahbaz Ahmed, and K Gowtham. In the first match, India would fight Pakistan in Dubai International Stadium on October 24 and later take on New Zealand and Afghanistan as well.
