KKR secure Muzarabani for 2026 as pace options thin out

Kolkata Knight Riders have strengthened their pace attack for IPL 2026 by signing Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani, who opted out of his PSL deal to seize the opportunity. The 6’8’’ seamer arrives fresh from an impressive World Cup campaign in India and Sri Lanka, where he claimed 13 wickets in six matches—bettered only by Jasprit Bumrah and Varun CV. A seasoned all‑format performer since 2017, Muzarabani has built a strong T20 résumé with 106 wickets in 89 internationals and stints across major leagues including the CPL, ILT20, PSL and England’s Vitality Blast.

This will be his second IPL experience after briefly featuring for Royal Challengers Bengaluru during their title‑winning 2025 season. Muzarabani is expected in Kolkata on March 17 to join a squad still adjusting its fast‑bowling plans. KKR previously terminated Mustafizur Rahman’s contract and continue to monitor Mathesha Pathirana’s recovery. Their 2026 campaign opens on March 29 against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede.
