Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper KL Rahul has been given the green light by the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to participate in the upcoming 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL). He sustained a quadriceps injury during the first Test against England in Hyderabad but has since recovered. To avoid exacerbating the injury, Rahul went to the United Kingdom (UK) after the incident, missing the latter part of the 2023 IPL season and the World Test Championship (WTC).
Although cleared for IPL action, the NCA advises against him taking up wicketkeeping duties immediately. LSG has begun preparations for the season with a new coaching staff after the departures of Andy Flower and Gautam Gambhir. Rahul is expected to join the team's training camp shortly, possibly after attending the pre-IPL Captains Conclave in Chennai on Thursday, March 21.
