Mark Wood's injury is a worrying sign for England

Mike Atherton sees Mark Wood’s injury as a big blow to England. The player was curtailed to bowling just five overs in Antigua on Day three of the test match, and later spent a considerable amount of time nursing his elbow injury. Former England captain later compared Wood’s injury to another injury-plagued teammate, Jofra Archer.

His elbow injury was triggered since the end of the Ashes tour and up until then, Wood has been England’s quickest bowler with a record of 1 for 45 which includes four maiden overs in his 17 overs as well. Of England’s famous attacking side, Jofra Archer, Olly Stone, and Mark Wood only the latter was left standing but even he has had a regular run-in with injuries which would hurt England the most.
