Maxwell's sensational double ton helps Australia to semi-finals

Glenn Maxwell's (201*) remarkable double-century helped Australia qualify for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 semi-finals. In the splendid display of dedication, Maxwell nearly single-handedly lifted Australia from 98/7 at the conclusion of the 20th over to 194/7 at the end of the 34th. Even hobbling on the field he carried the side to an incredible win.  

He even set up a record of greatest individual total in a Cricket World Cup chase. In the first innings, a magnificent century from Ibrahim Zadran (129*), complete with solid strokes from the middle-order batsmen, and a strong charge from the lower-order enabled Afghanistan to their best Cricket World Cup total. Defending 292, Afghanistan bowlers pulled apart the starting lineup easily. Mitchell Marsh attempted to increase the scoring pace but was undone by a magnificent Naveen ball that caught the Australian all-rounder in front of the stumps. But Maxwell's efforts carried the side to a win by three-wicket win.
