Kane Williamson leads New Zealand to a win on the Sixth day of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship against India. Rain wreaked havoc on any gameplay strategy both the teams could have armed themselves with before the start of the WTC final. New Zealand finally quenched its thirst for a big spoil in international cricket in its 90-year long history by beating India in a dominating fashion with 8 wickets to spare.
Black Caps Skipper avenged his knock of 49 in the first inning with an unbeaten 52 chasing an easy target of 139. Williamson along with Ross Taylor’s knock of 47 stood their ground against seasoned Indian bowlers to take the champions trophy home. Black Caps lost both their openers Devon Conway and Tom Latham to Ravichandran Ashwin but found stability in the Williamson and Taylor partnership later. Kyle Jamieson was awarded the player of the match award in the end while India went home defeated after coming so close to the win.
