Phil Simmons all set to resign

In response to the West Indies team's catastrophic Twenty20 World Cup campaign, Cricket West Indies announced Monday that head coach Phil Simmons will resign from his position following the forthcoming Test series with Australia. Simmons will retire following the two-Test series between the West Indies and Australia, which begins on November 30 in Perth, according to a statement from CWI.

Following the West Indies' humiliating first-round elimination from the T20 World Cup, which was finalized by Ireland's nine-wicket thumping of them in Hobart on Friday, the news was made. Additionally, the group lost to Scotland in a humiliating manner. Simmons said in a statement issued by the CWI that despite the T20 disaster being "disappointing and heart-wrenching," he had already been thinking about his decision for "some time." In 2016, Simmons coached the West Indies to win the T20 World Cup in India. In 2019, Simmons served as coach once more.
