Rain dashed Bangladesh's hopes of forcing a second emphatic victory over Ireland

Following the cancellation of the second one-day international at Sylhet, rain destroyed Bangladesh's chances of forcing a second decisive victory against Ireland in a short period of time. When the teams met again on Monday, Bangladesh, who had hammered the tourists by 183 runs in the first game of the series on Saturday, had amassed a record-breaking 349 for six in their 50 overs. Sadly, the weather suddenly stepped in and stopped the Irish from starting their response. The best scorer for the hosts was Mushfiqur Rahim, who got the quickest ODI century in his nation's history off just 60 balls. 14 fours and two sixes were part of his undefeated hundred.

Earlier, Litton Das and Najmul Hossain Shanto scored 70 and 73 runs, respectively. Graham Hume was Ireland's best bowler with three for 58. On Thursday, the last game of the three-game series will be played.
