Former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting is known for his skills to spot world-class players and is also known as the head coach of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Capitals (DC). DC even topped the table this season until the tournament was suspended. The two-times ODI World Cup-winning captain shared a list of wicketkeepers for the Aussie’s team for the upcoming 2021 T20 World Cup.
Australia has currently named Alex Carey, Josh Phillipe, and Matthew Wade in the 23-man squad who would be playing in the T20 and ODIs series against West Indies. But Ponting names Perth Scorchers’ wicket keeper-batter Josh Inglis in his list for his performance in BBL last season. As both India or United Arab Emirates (UAE) have spin-friendly Inglis would be a suitable candidate.
