It appears that Royal Challengers Bangalore has made the decision to revamp their bowling attack in time for the next Indian Premier League campaign. For what other reason would they release three of their best bowlers before the IPL 2024 auction that takes place the following month?

On the final day for retentions, RCB, who placed fifth in the points table the previous season, unexpectedly let go of Wanindu Hasaranga, Josh Hazlewood, and Harshal Patel. Three of the six spots that RCB currently have open can be occupied by players from abroad. However, they acquired Cameron Green, an all-rounder with medium pace right-arm bowling, in a deal. The reasoning for the significant decisions the team had to make, which would provide them "flexibility" during the auction, was elucidated by RCB coach Andy Flower.
