South Africa considers releasing players participating in IPL early

Indian Premier League Franchises take a sigh of relief as South Africa ponders over releasing players early to take part in the Indian tournament. South Africa and Bangladesh are set to play three ODIs and two Tests from March 18 to April 11 which means a few Proteas players might miss a few of the IPL matches.

Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Marco Jansen and Aiden Markram would be part of the Proteas squad and be free by April 11. The IPL is set to kick off from March 27 and be played across four venues in Maharashtra. The player would also have to undergo five days in quarantine. Around 33 Proteas players would be taking part in the 590-player auction list.
