Sri Lanka skipper Dimuth Karunaratne battled through injury to assist the hosts with extending their general lead to 323 runs and lift their possibilities of a series-evening-out triumph in the second Test against Pakistan on Tuesday. The hosts were 176-5 when terrible light halted play on day three with Karunaratne on 27 and Dhananjaya de Silva on 30.
Sri Lanka earlier bowled out Pakistan for 231 to get a huge lead. Naseem sent back the in-form Dinesh Chandimal (21) not long after the Tea break keeping Sri Lanka to 117-5 yet de Silva and Karunaratne looked to a great extent untroubled. Pakistan pulled off an exhilarating 342-run pursuit in the initial match to snatch a 1-0 lead in the two-Test series.
