The hosts have attained a huge advantage over Sri Lanka

Faf du Plessis, former South Africa Test captain, was the center of force. He was the one who powered the hosts to a colossal total of 621. It was in response to Sri Lanka’s 396 in the 1st innings, of  Day 3. On Monday, Du Plessis finished off with 4000 Test runs. Moreover, he also hit his 10th hundred in the longest format.

However, the 36-year-old had a sweet and sour ending to his big day.  It was because Wanindu Hasaranga, debutant, claimed the wicket of du Plessis in 199. The sign of huge disappointment was all over Faf du Plessis. But, he was still patted on the back by his opponents. That too, as soon as he left the field after a heartbreaking ousting.

Faf got good support from Keshav. Ngidi strikes twice to make it more difficult for Srilanka, at the end of the Third day Srilanka trailing by 160 runs with 8 wickets in hand
