West Indies beat Sri Lanka by 5 wickets

Evin Lewis (103) and Shai Hope (84) made 192-run opening partnership and set the strong foundation that allowed Nicholas Pooran and team to overtake Sri Lanka’s 273-8 with 2 balls to spare. Pooran made 35 from 38 and took his team home in the final over in the West Indies’ highest successful ODI run chase against SL.

West Indies needing 31 runs from 18 balls. Fabian Allen hit a six from the very first ball of 48th over bowled by Pradeep making the equation 25 runs from 17 balls, but Pradeep took Allen’s wicket on the very next ball, leaving the match still in balance. Nicholas hit a four from the next delivery and ease the pressure and played till the end.

Earlier Danushka Gunathilaka scored 96 from 96 balls led Sri Lanka’s recovery after they slumped to 50-3 in the 9th over.
