West Indies' tour of Pakistan could be abandoned

After five more members of their entourage, including three players, tested positive for Covid-19, the West Indies may have to cancel the rest of their white ball tour of Pakistan. Shai Hope, spinner Akeal Hosein, and all-rounder Justin Greaves, as well as assistant coach Roddy Estwick and physician Akshai Mansingh, all tested positive. The newest development comes after Sheldon Cottrell, Roston Chase, and Kyle Mayers, all-rounders, tested positive after arriving in Pakistan.

A West Indies team that already lacked Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Jason Holder, and Even Lewis, as well as Devon Thomas, who suffered a finger injury, has been severely reduced. On Thursday, the West Indies cricket board will meet with its Pakistan counterpart to consider whether the balance of the tour should be cancelled. Cottrell, Chase, and Mayers are still in their isolation period, and the five who just tested positive will have to spend ten days in Karachi.
