World's shortest retirement

Will O'Rourke, a pacer for New Zealand, will not play in the second Test of the current series against Australia. Due to hamstring injuries, the 22-year-old was unable to participate in the Christchurch Test. As a result, there were rumors that Neil Wagner would be making a comeback and playing his last Test match. The team's skipper, Tim Southee, agreed and said that although they haven't made a decision, the management of the club may take it into consideration.

Australia's captain Pat Cummins made a cheeky joke about it after hearing it, calling it the "world's shortest retirement." Notably, on February 27, two days before New Zealand's first match against the Trans-Tasman rivals, Wagner announced his retirement from international cricket. When it looked like he might return soon after the first Test, Cummins didn't hold back and said that if he was the next best seamer available, New Zealand could give him a call.
