Australia’s chances for qualifying for the semi-final at the Twenty20 World Cup get a big boost with the eight-wicket thrashing of Bangladesh on Thursday. Adam Zampa was the real star of the show as his pace and spin returned with his maiden five-wicket haul.
Bangladesh was limited to 73 in the Super 12 stage in Dubai, the low score made things easy for Australia who relied on Skipper Aaron Finch(40) and David Warner to post the first wicket partnership of 58 and chase the target in just 6.2 overs to leapfrog over South Africa on net run-rate and boost their semi-final hopes. This was Australia’s third win in four matches and would take on West Indies next.
