AF Corse has enlisted the talents of newly crowned FIA World Endurance Championship LMP2 champion Robert Kubica for the 2024 season. Fresh from securing the LMP2 championship with Team WRT, the 38-year-old Polish driver is transitioning to top-class competition, given the absence of the secondary prototype category in the upcoming WEC season. Kubica had previously explored a potential role with Hertz Team JOTA for 2024, but the move did not materialize.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Kubica stated, "I’m happy that my path and the path of AF Corse will be the same next season," emphasizing the significance of joining one of motorsport's most successful teams. Further details about Kubica's role with AF Corse are expected to be disclosed in the coming weeks. This announcement follows Ferrari's indication of readiness to support a potential third 499P entry in WEC's Hypercar class, potentially linked to AF Corse's Richard Mille entry from the previous GTE-Am category.
