Alonso’s greatest weekend was the Japanese Grand Prix

Fernando Alonso has boldly claimed that his performance during the Japanese Grand Prix weekend ranks "inside the top five" of his extensive Formula 1 career. Despite qualifying in fifth position and finishing sixth at Suzuka, Alonso surpassed expectations by outpacing both Mercedes drivers and McLaren's Oscar Piastri.

Acknowledging that under normal circumstances he might have finished ninth, Alonso attributed his higher position to his own stellar performance.
