Alex Albon has expressed concern about Formula 1 teams adopting tactics similar to Haas' controversial strategy in Saudi Arabia, where Kevin Magnussen incurred a penalty to aid Nico Hulkenberg's point-scoring opportunity.
In the recent Jeddah circuit race, Magnussen's actions, described by Red Bull as "unsportsmanlike behavior," resulted in a 10-second penalty after he overtook Yuki Tsunoda off-track and slowed down deliberately, denying Tsunoda his position back. This maneuver allowed Hulkenberg to secure 10th place. Red Bull Racing's director, Alan Permane, criticized Magnussen's actions and indicated discussions with the FIA regarding such tactics for future races. Albon, driving for Williams, expressed worry that this tactic could become prevalent throughout the season, especially among midfield teams aiming for points. He suggested that sacrificing one driver for the benefit of another teammate's points might become a common strategy, particularly for teams vying for every opportunity to score.
