Robert Kubica would serve as Alfa Romeo reserve for 2022

Robert Kubica would be serving as the Alfa Romeo’s test and reserve driver for the 2022 F1 season. Kubica stayed in the same role since 2020 ever since he came back to rejoin the team he made his Formula 1 debut with. Now he was the back up to Kimi Räikkönen and Antonio Giovinazzi and served the team in Zandvoort and Monza when Räikkönen missed the race after testing positive for the Covid-19 test, he secured a 15th place finish at Zandvoort and 14th place finish at Monza.

Alfa Romeo ahead of the next season confirmed that their title sponsor stays the same with Polish oil company PKN Orlen and their reserve is also taken up by Kubica. Robert took part in sportscars in 2021 and won the European Le Mans title with Team WRT and is set to play this year as well while serving as the backup for Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou.
