A blow to Aston Villa as players set to miss the Wolves match

With players set to serve international duty, manager Dean Smith is all set to host the squad of Wolverhampton Wanderers in Villa Park on the 16th of October. Emiliano Martinez has been the number one choice for goalkeeping but Smith would have to rely on an alternative this time around.

The 29-year-old is with Argentina’s squad and would play against Paraguay, Uruguay, and Peru in the World Cup qualifiers. Since the Peru match is scheduled for the 14th of October, Martinez would not be able to face Wolves. Before this, the player also missed the Chelsea match in September due to the quarantine rules in place. This time around even when there are new rules and new protocols in place the player would still miss a crucial match for Villa.
