Aleksandar Pavlovic of Bayern Munich has been replaced in Germany's Euro 2024 team by former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can.
Just two days before his nation's opening game against Scotland, 20-year-old Pavlovic was forced to withdraw due to sickness. After making his debut for his country earlier this month in a goalless draw against Ukraine, Pavlovic was unable to play in Germany's 2-1 victory over Greece on June 7 due to an illness. It has now been established that he will not be able to play for the whole of the tournament, since he was originally scheduled to miss the first game. Can, 30, caught up with his teammates on Wednesday after enjoying a fantastic season with Dortmund. Earlier this month, he captained the German team in the Champions League final at Wembley. Can now plays for Borussia Dortmund and has 43 caps.
