Alvarez produced the best goal conversion rate

Alvarez produced the highest goal conversion rate among the top strikers for shots at the 2022 World Cup. Messi only managed a 22% success rate. Mbappe, the star of Qatar 2022, scored eight goals from 31 shots, converting 26% of his shots. Mbappe joined Hurst in an exclusive club by scoring the second-ever hat-trick in the World Cup final and also bagged the Golden Boot award.

Giroud finished just behind him at 25%, scoring four goals from 16 shots. Martinez, who failed to score at all, was Argentina’s worst player. Ronaldo, Felix, and Sarr all had a 9% goal conversion rate, with a 9% mark being achieved by Olmo, Sarr, and Ronaldo. In comparison, Kane, Lewandowski, and Neymar all scored two goals from 12 shots, with Lewandowski converting twice from four shots on target.
