Arsenal set to trigger £27m option for Brentford's Raya

David Raya joined Arsenal on loan from Brentford in the summer transfer window. Since then the Spanish goalkeeper has battled for a place in Arteta's starting eleven against Aaron Ramsdale and has managed to earn a starting place.

Mikel Arteta has shown that he trusts the Spain international goalkeeper and is delighted with his performances for the Gunners this season. According to press, Arsenal are ready to seal a deal with Raya to keep him at the club.

The Emirates Stadium outfit would be willing to activate the goalkeeper's £27m option in his contract to sign him on a long-term deal. Raya has already signed a potential long-term contract and Brentford would be willing to accept.

This will be a setback for Ramsdale who is not having a good time at the club, with his father commenting in an interview that his son was not having a good time.
