AS Roma considering a move for David de Gea

David de Gea of Manchester United is being pursued by AS Roma, under Jose Mourinho, for a Bosman move to Serie A in the off-season. The former Atletico Madrid player is still among the greatest in the world despite concerns about his ball-playing skills and appropriateness under manager Erik ten Hag's system. After a rocky start to the season, the Spaniard has improved recently. Last month, Manchester United won the Carabao Cup, ending a six-year trophy drought, and David de Gea broke Peter Schmeichel's old mark of 180 shutouts for the Red Devils.

Prior to the break for the international break, the 32-year-old followed it up with yet another spectacular performance during the 3-1 victory against Fulham in the FA Cup quarterfinals. His extraordinary saves kept Manchester United in the match before the Cottagers hit the self-destruct button.
