Athletic Club secures 1-1 draw against Valencia

In a tense match between Valencia and Athletic Bilbao, substitute Maranhao scored in injury time to earn Valencia a point. Both teams came close to scoring in the first half but were unable to do so. Martinez, however, broke the tie in the second half by scoring in the 69th minute. Valencia's attacking opportunities were harmed by Gomez's red card in the 82nd minute, but they still managed to secure a crucial point. Santi Mina leveled the aggregate score at 1-1 for the hosts, who then moved ahead thanks to a spectacular Santos header. 

Following a Raul Garcia flick, Aritz Aduriz scored a key late goal. An enraged Neville was penalized for protesting an apparent handball in the build-up to the score, and replays appeared to back up his accusations. The ball appeared to make contact with Oscar de Marcos' arm before falling to Garcia, who scored his 31st goal of the season with a beautiful touch.
