Barcelona are at risk of losing Gavi for free this summer

In January, Barcelona enrolled the 18-year-old after a court decision in their favour. Gavi was re-registered under his youth contract when the judgement was reversed after la Liga filed an appeal. This was confirmed on Wednesday when, according to MD, Gavi's profile returned on the La Liga website with his former number 30. Since February, he had been donning shirt number six, but as a result of the decision, he must switch back to his original shirt number.

Before the summer, Barcelona plans to make room in their salary structure for Gavi as well as players like Sergi Roberto, Ronald Araujo, Marcos Alonso, and others who have recently signed new contracts. Gavi will don number 30 once more against Elche on Saturday, but Barcelona is hoping to have him back in number six for the upcoming campaign.
