Barcelona does have a few options when it comes to offloading former football players, despite the fact that the club is scrambling to find buyers for their undesired talents in time for the next summer. Philippe Coutinho is one such instance. 50% of the Brazilian's prospective sell-on fee was set aside by Barcelona when he signed a contract with Aston Villa in 2022 for a meager €20 million.
As it turned out, Coutinho's lackluster performance at Aston Villa led to his loan to Al Duhail, a major team in Qatar, for the summer season. The former star from Liverpool, though, was unable to have much of an effect at Al Duhail and now returns to Aston Villa with little hope. According to Fabrizio Romano, Philippe Coutinho's contract with Aston Villa has been terminated since he has little to no chance of being included in Unai Emery's starting lineup for the upcoming campaign.
