Barcelona lost to Villarreal 5-3

Following a 5-3 loss against Villarreal at Camp Nou, Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez said he would be leaving the position at the end of the current campaign, calling it "cruel and unpleasant." The visitors had taken the lead thanks to goals from Gerard Moreno and Ilias, the former Blaugrana, but the Blaugranes responded with goals from Gundogan, Pedri, and an own goal from Eric Bailly. Opportunities to increase the advantage were few and far between, and Xavi's squad paid a heavy price as Guedes equalized before Sorloth's strike in the 99th and Morales' goal in the 102nd minute added to the agony.

Three changes were made to the team that lost to Athletic by Coach Xavi Hernández: Oriol Romeu, Héctor Fort, and João Félix. After just three minutes, the visitors had the ball in the net thanks to a spirited first half. Fortunately for the Blaugranes, though, Baena was offside when he found the net.
