Barcelona remain third in La Liga

In La Liga, Barcelona maintained their third position after salvaging a late draw against Rayo Vallecano. Trailing at halftime due to Unai Lopez's impressive strike, Barca, despite dominating the second half, struggled to convert good opportunities. The breakthrough finally came when Florian Lejeune, under pressure from Robert Lewandowski, inadvertently scored an own goal. With six changes from their previous match, Barcelona, missing goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, saw his replacement Inaki Pena facing challenges, notably conceding Lopez's powerful strike.

Manager Xavi introduced Ilkay Gundogan in the second half, leading to increased dominance by Barcelona. Despite taking 10 shots compared to team Rayo's three, the equalizer required Lejeune's own goal in the 82nd minute. The draw maintains Barcelona's third position, with Real Madrid and Girona yet to play in the current round.
