Barcelona to sign a new right-back this summer

The person they are after is Pablo Maffeo. The 26-year-old has been strongly linked with a transfer away from Mallorca this summer, and the current LaLiga champions could afford to sign him. Sport has since claimed that Sevilla and Mallorca have struck a signing deal for Maffeo. Rafa Mir, Oscar Rodriguez, and Juanlu Sanchez will go to the Balearic side as a result of the agreement.

Gonzalo Montiel, an Argentine international, wants to leave the Europa League champions, hence Sevilla is trying to trade him this summer. His successor on Jose Luis Mendilibar's team would be Maffeo. Mir, who is hesitant to join Mallorca, is presently holding up a contract, so Barcelona may have a chance to hijack it. They appear to be about to lose out on another right-back target, though.
