Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong injured after Real Madrid clash

Barcelona has revealed that midfielder Frenkie de Jong suffered from a right hamstring during the El Clasico defeat against Real Madrid. The 24-year-old had to be substituted in the 77th minute first because of the injury.

But the Catalan giants would miss the Dutch International for a long time now as no scheduled return date has yet been set for the player. Many believe Frenkie de Jong is one of those elite performers in Barcelona who have been overworked in the last three seasons. De Jong even suffered from a calf injury earlier in the preseason but recovered from it soon enough. The Dutchman has played 11 matches this season and Koeman would need a temporary solution for de Jong even when the pressure on the coach is already mounting.
