Barcelona's lack of depth is highlighted by a recent slew of injuries

Barcelona's loss to Real Sociedad served as yet another pertinent warning that should they suffer from more injury issues, the Catalan powerhouses lack the depth to maintain a title challenge this season. Both individually and as a team, the form can fluctuate, but an injury that keeps a player out for an extended period of time is sometimes quite detrimental. Losing Frenkie de Jong has demonstrated the point. Even though Lamine Yamal is just 17 years old, it was obvious how much he was missed even though he didn't show up at the Reale Arena.

The club has already stated that he will be out for a few more weeks, but as his absence coincides with yet another international break, it's not the worst possible time. The same is true for Robert Lewandowski, who will miss around ten days due to a back ailment.
