Borussia Dortmund sealed CL spot by beating Mainz

Raphael Guerreiro, Marco Reus helped Dortmund finish the season strong if not the title, then the next best thing, a Champions League spot. With just one more game left, Dortmund has secured their return to Europe’s elite tournament next season. Guerreiro and Reus hit first-half goals for the team and Germany winger Brandt made it 3-1. Dortmund had earlier routed Leipzig by 4-1 to win the German Cup.

Mainz striker Robin Quaison pulled one back with a 90th-minute penalty and scored his 30th Bundesliga goal. Dortmund has turned around their game in the last six weeks itself and topped that with a European Qualification after they were fifth on the table and seven points away of CL. Having won six matches back to back they surprised many with their performance this season.
