Brentford beat 10-man Fulham 3-0 away

A crucial role was also performed by Yoane Wissa, who scored a penalty that led to Tim Ream's dismissal for receiving a second card and gave Brentford the lead just before halftime following a defensive blunder by Fulham. Mbeumo scored for the second week in a row from the penalty spot as his calm attempt pinned goalkeeper Bernd Leno to the ground as the ball entered via the left post.

In the nine minutes of extra time, Fulham attempted to rally with cameos from Willian and newly acquired Adama Traore, but Brentford increased their lead when Kristoffer Ajer's precise cross found Mbeumo for a second goal. After starting the season with a 2-2 draw at home against Tottenham the previous Saturday, when Fulham triumphed against Everton, it was Brentford's first victory of the year.
