Brest struggling in the transfer market despite ECL qualification

Brest were one of the success stories of football last season as they shocked everyone by qualifying for the Champions League under the tutelage of Éric Roy. Fans of Les Pirates will have been overjoyed at the prospect of continental football next season but expecting the Ligue 1 club to invest appropriately to equip them with quality to compete in the UEFA’s premier competition.

However, as reported by international press, Brest have struggled to recruit new players to prepare them for Champions League football during the summer transfer window. With only one recruit in the form of Julien Le Cardinal from Lens, the squad of Les Pirates has perhaps regressed rather than progressed with several departures following their successful season last term.

Brest have seen several players leave the club during the window so far.
