Cagliari and Torino match end in a stalemate 

With Cagliari holding Torino to a scoreless draw on Monday, Claudio Ranieri's reign as manager of the club got off to a solid start. The Serie A newcomers were too strong for Torino, who labored in front of goal and had some concerns about player availability. In the extra period, Nemanja Radonjic had two chances to steal three points, but Boris Radunovic stopped them both.

In the first three minutes, Antonio Sanabria attempted a close-range volley, but Boris Radunovic quickly responded to stop it. Before Perr Schuurs' close-range header, Vanja Milinkovic-Savic also produced a superb save to save Nahitan Nandez's curling attempt. After coming off the bench, Radonjic attempted to make a difference but was stopped by Adam Obert. Then, in stoppage time, he had a second opportunity to secure three points, but Radunovic made a fine stop before the rebound was pushed wide.
