Chelsea signed Enzo Fernandez for 121 million as spending spree continues

Todd Boehly has felt his club needed strengthening and has broken the bank for it. Following weeks of mad talks and negotiations, the English club have managed to secure the signing of the best young player of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, Enzo Fernandez from Benfica.

The Argentinian midfielder managed to make the leap to European football after a good season under the orders of Marcelo Gallardo. However, it was after excelling at the World Cup that several European giants turned their attention to him. And without a doubt, the one that led the race at all times despite the refusal of the Portuguese club was Chelsea.

The Blues made several offers to Benfica but all were rejected by the 'Eagles'. The Portuguese side were clear that they would not let their young star leave for less than the 121million his buy-out clause indicated.
