The Spanish goalkeeper will likely leave the South of France this summer for the newly promoted Serie A side on loan but with the option to buy.
The one stumbling block preventing this agreement from being finalised is that Marseille are waiting for a replacement goalkeeper before they allow López to leave. Les Phocéens have been busy this summer attempting to find a fresh face to become their new number one, and are negotiating an agreement with Las Palmas for Álvaro Valles (26).
Marseille have reportedly sent the Spanish side an offer of €10 million for Valles as they hope to make the highly-rated goalkeeper their third signing of the summer after bringing in Lilian Brassier (24) from Stade Brestois and Ismaël Koné (22) from Watford FC.
