Croatia saw off Morocco 2-1 to claim third place at the World Cup in Qatar

In the seventh minute at the Khalifa International Stadium, Josko Gvardiol gave Croatia the lead. But as soon as Achraf Dari returned home, everything was back to square one. Croatia's winning goal was scored by Mislav Orsic just before halftime. Luka Modric, the captain, told Croatian television station HRT, "We accomplished something significant for Croatian football. "We were almost first," said the team.

After the victory, Modric, 37, put an end to rumours about his future when he said he would remain with the team as it competed in the Nations League the next year. The four-team finals, which will also include the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain, will feature Croatia in June. Not participating in the Nations League would be absurd, according to Modric. "Then, we'll decide how to move forward.
