Juventus was humiliated 4-1 by lowly Empoli in Serie A on Monday after being penalised 10 points in a fresh transfer-related judgment, making it increasingly improbable that they will enter the Champions League.
Just after the break, Empoli went up 3-0 with two goals from Francesco Caputo and Sebastiano Luperto. Five minutes later, Federico Chiesa brought a goal back for the Juve, and Roberto Piccoli completed the victory in stoppage time. Juve, who learned of the revised ruling only prior to the game's start, fell from second to eighth as a result of the points reduction. Juve, with 59 points, and AC Milan, with 64 points, are tied for the fourth and final Champions League spot with two league games remaining. The rivals will face off in Turin on Sunday.
