England rushed into the last 16 of the World Cup as Group B victors after Marcus Rashford's double scoring and a Phil Foden stroke domineered their presence in the tournament; with them later hammering an outclassed Wales with a 3-0 defeat on Tuesday.
Wales, who required a four-goal win in a lineup they had not won since 1984 to qualify for the knockout phase, defended amazingly and annoyed Gareth Southgate's team in a subdued first half at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium.
But they broke the break as a dominant England spurted their goals scoreboard in the tournament to nine and gave hopes of a longer run in Qatar, having qualified the semi-finals in 2018. Rashford struck home five minutes after the break following a foul on Foden by Ethan Ampadu. A minute later Foden made it 2-0.
